Contextual Awareness

Early examples of contextual awareness are camera-phone applications which show relavant information super-imposed on the camera image. This may include real-estate information, local history, retail use, advertising, social applications or real-time localised offers.

Emerging is the 'virtual awareness' of the context of a situation. For example if your mobile device can sense exactly what you had for lunch it may suggest what you should have for dinner to optimize your metabolic rate. Your phone may also be aware that because the local temperature is lower today than other days it is a better time to purchase petrol because you will get more fuel per volume. This is the device being 'contextually aware'.

We hope to build applications which strive towards this level of sophistication - which can interpret multiple streams of visual and other sensory information thus deriving best outcomes or options.
